One of the most long-standing manufacturers of artificial eyes in Japan, Atsuzawa Prosthesis Co., Ltd., was born when Ginjiro Atsuzawa, founder and former president, succeeded in developing Asia's first artificial eye made from glass, under the guidance of Dr. Shinobu Ishihara, then Professor at Tokyo Imperial University. Atsuzawa has since developed numerous state-of-the-art artificial eyes together with their production systems.
When a time capsule was prepared in celebration of the 1970 World Expo held in Osaka, one of our products, 'Prosthesis,' was chosen to be put in the capsule.
We are endorsed by local governments as a prosthetic device manufacturer under the Services and Supports for Persons with Disabilities Act, Public Assistance Act, and Act on Special Aid to the Wounded and Sick Retired Soldiers, and active throughout Japan.
